Trout Point Lodge of Nova Scotia
Naturalist Guide Trout Point Lodge seeks a person qualified to act as a naturalist guide during the summer and fall of 2009. The
Lodge is in East Kemptville, Nova Scotia, immediately adjacent to the Tobeatic Wilderness Area at the confluence of the Tusket
and Napier Rivers. The web site is www.troutpoint.com.
The succesful applicant will be familiar with
the Acadian/Boreal forest ecosystem and have substantial canoeing, kayking, and/or hiking experience. Experience in freshwater
fishing would be an asset. Familiarity with the Tobeatic is also a plus. A background in biology/ecology is suggested, though
a degree is not required. The applicant should have excellent oral communication skills and a desire to work in an eco-tourism
setting.
The Lodge will provide room and board as well
has an hourly wage and/or possibly a sharing of guiding fees. The Lodge's season is from late May to mid October, though shorter
work periods will be considered.

Intership Opportunity
Trout Point announces the opportunity for one individual to work closely with chef-proprietors
Vaughn Perret, Charles Leary, and Daniel Abel at Trout Point Lodge of Nova Scotia during the 2009 season, May through October.
The internship will expose the student to all aspects of kitchen production at Trout Point, including planning and preparing
fixed menus, baking & pastry, soups, and seafood.
Following a short break the internship will continue at the Inn at Coyote Mountain, Costa Rica.
This section of the internship will allow the student to take charge of meal production for this small inn, including planning
and preperation of complete, fixed menus, from November through April, 2010. The Inn has 4 guest rooms, and offers breakfast,
lunch, and dinner.
This is a unique and challenging culinary arts internship, and will give the succesful applicant
the chance to work side-by-side with some of North America's top food authorities before moving on to his or her capabilities
with responsibility for creating top-notch menus for the Inn at Coyote Mountain.
Room & board plus a stipend will be provided. Transportation costs not included. Applicants
must obtain a valid work permit for Canada or already have the right to work in Canada; some assistance provided. Generally,
Swiss, French, Belgian Australian, New Zealand, and United Kingdom passport holders can obtain such visas.

Musician/Music
Instructor/Guest Services Trout Point Lodge seeks a person qualified to act
as a resident musician/children's music instructor (basic level) during the summer and/or fall of 2009. The successful applicant will be familiar
with classical and traditional music forms. Preferred instruments include violin, cello,
and flute.
One hour of solo public music
performance a day (broken into two 30 minute segments to occur at the beginning and the
end of the evening) is planned. The applicant should have excellent oral communication
skills and a desire to work in an remote ecotourism setting. The student may also be called upon to work in other areas of lodge operations including
but not limited to Reception, waiting and housekeeping.
The Lodge will provide room and
board as well has an hourly wage and/or possibly a sharing of teaching fees, tips for
the musical performances will go exclusively to the student . The Lodge's season is from late May to mid October, though shorter work periods will be considered.

Artist/Art Instructor/Guest Services Trout
Point Lodge seeks a person qualified to act as a resident artist/children's art instructor during
the summer and/or fall of 2009. The successful applicant will have some formal art education and/or an undergraduate degree in the arts. A fine
arts degree is not required.
The Lodge will offer art classes taught
by the succesful applicant, who will also be expected to produce some art for the Lodge's collection. The applicant should
have excellent oral communication skills and a desire to work in an remote ecotourism
setting. The student may also be called upon to work in other areas of lodge operations including but not limited to Reception, waiting and housekeeping.
